The Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and Universities (TECSCU) is an organization for the primary administrators of schools, colleges or departments of education in AASCU (American Association of State Colleges and Universities) institutions. TECSCU fulfills its commitments by working within and among its member institutions, with other organizations and with other policy makers by:
- Providing professional development for deans and directors;
- Disseminating scientifically-based research and effective practices;
- Enhancing deans’ and directors’ ability to influence local, state and regional policy;
- Collaborating with member institutions and other educational organizations; and
- Building coalitions with others interested in improving education.
TECSCU COMMITMENTS
TECSCU commits itself to the simultaneous and continuous renewal of public schools and the education of teachers and other educators.
- As TECSCU institutions, we are deeply committed to the highest quality educational preparation – only those who are fully prepared are licensed from our programs.
- We believe in the power of good teaching in order to continue to strengthen the individual and society.
- As TECSCU, we strive always to be institutions that provide the opportunity for diverse populations of students to access higher education and to enter the teaching profession as outstanding professionals committed to PreK – 12 learning.
