Profile of TECSCU Member Institutions


  1. This year more than 180 institutions that prepare teachers and other educators are
    TECSCU members.
  2. Approximately 79% of TECSCU member institutions are nationally accredited.
  3. TECSCU institutions represent 42 states and annually prepare nearly half of all teacher candidates nationwide.
  4. TECSCU member institutions received over $55 million in federal grant monies in FY2000.

      Each member institution receives three newsletters annually, access to the
      TECSCU website, downlink coordinates for free TECSCU sponsored annual teleconferences, and regular email updates with relevant organizational
      information, and free posting of job announcements on the TECSCU website.


  2. Involved
      TECSCU sponsors two conferences annually that address important issues which impact teacher education.The conference format always includes opportunities for interaction and the free exchange of ideas among the conference participants.

  3. Interconnected
      Join a leadership network of deans and directors of teacher education who share ideas, experiences, perspectives, and opportunities. Lifelong friendships are often forged among TECSCU institutional representatives.
